Charleston Literary Festival

Now in its 29th year, the Charleston Festival brings together a remarkable cast of writers, thinkers, artists and performers to interrogate history, politics, science, literature and society to the tranquil country home of the Bloomsbury artists Duncan Grant and Vanessa Bell.
The festival attracts internationally acclaimed writers and thinkers to the Sussex countryside, to an intimate setting where the audience can really engage with the contributors in a relaxed and beautiful setting.
The Charleston Festival’s appeal is recognised internationally by authors and visitors alike and is thought-provoking and inquiring, in the spirit of the Bloomsbury and on an appreciated comfortable scale.
